Going into the 2021/2022 school year there were many unknowns once again and a month in, MCI Principal Kyle McKinstry is quite pleased.

"We've had a few bumps along the way but we have a great staff and student body. The kind and caring staff put the learning goals and interests of their students first so things have been running rather smoothly."

McKinstry is also happy sports have returned to the High School. Soccer, Volleyball and Cross Country Running have been up and running since early last month. At first, they live streamed the indoor action so parents and family could watch, but as of this week McKinstry says fully vaccinated fans are now welcome as long as they wear a mask, social distance and sit in family units.

Student Council has also been named and this year's President is Derek Thiessen. McKinstry says they have been going over the constitution and adds Thiessen has a very strong student body behind him.

"We are developing some student activities that we can do to keep our students engaged and continue to solidify our amazing school community we have here"

The students have already been busy helping out the community and Council recently made a substantial donation to the CRC Food Vault just in time for Thanksgiving. It was part of a Farm to School Fundraiser that saw $1700 in orders and raised $850 for the school.
