Long Plain man facing break and enter charges

A 27-year-old man from Long Plain First Nation is accused of trying to break into a home in Portage la Prairie on November 9th.

Police report they received a call just after 8 p.m. last Wednesday, saying the man was trying to break into their residence in the 100 block of 6th Street NE. Officers were quick to respond and found the suspect a short distance away. He was placed under arrest without incident.

The man had caused several hundred dollars in damages, accordidng to police. He appeared in court the following day facing charges of Break and Entering and two counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order.
