The details have been worked out and harness racing enthusiasts in Manitoba will be able to head to the track this weekend in Miami.

The President of the Manitoba Harness Racing Circuit says everyone is excited to be back for another season of racing. Trevor Williams says people will notice several COVID 19 protocols when they show up at the track.

“We got word last week from provincial health that we will actually be allowing fans to attend and we have COVID measures at the track to make sure we meet all required protocols.”

All 10 racing days will take place in Miami and run every Saturday between July 11 and September 12.

“It’s a relief to put a race season on and we’ve talked about a hundred times this spring that it’s just a privilege to race and our horsemen are proud that they’ll be able to get their product out there. Lots of people put lots of work in over the winter months getting these horses ready.”

Qualifying races were held last weekend and Williams expects a good season on the track.
