Starting tonight is the first-ever Whitemud Music Festival in Arden.

Host committee member Rob Cameron explains how the idea came about and where you can find it.

"Some of us from the curling club decided to do this festival for a fundraiser for our curling club and we have a beautiful park and camping area," says Cameron. "It will be held at the Lansdowne Centennial Park which is on the banks of the Whitemud River. That's why we're calling it the Whitemud Music Festival."

Arden has hosted the headline band from Mexico in the past, and took advantage of them making a tour in Canada.

The festival also includes bands from Neepawa, Minnedosa, Brandon, and Winnipeg, making for a great slate of Manitoba talent and tribute bands.

You can learn more at their Eventbrite page as well as information on their Facebook page - Whitemud Music Festival.
