The public health restrictions have been loosened, which allows higher capacities for indoor gatherings among other changes.

One group that's excited about the new set of restrictions is the local Farmers Market, which has been operating inside Stride Place for the winter. Executive Director Jodie Poirier says while the restrictions don't impact them as much as they feared they might, they're still ready for things to open up.

"It would be nice if all of our customers were allowed to come and shop with us," says Poirier. "But, it's good to see things somewhat getting back to normal. I think we're all tired of being told what we can and can't do."

She explains one of the biggest problems they ran into during the pandemic was losing some of the vendors due to the small gathering sizes. She also says it's not fun to turn people away due to their COVID vaccination status.

"I'd like to put a reminder to be kind to everybody, no matter what their opinion might be about all this like at the end of the day," says Poirier. "They're still our family, they're still our friends, don't let this divide you."
