It's gameday for the Portage Terriers.

The Dogs make the trip to Headingley tonight for a date with the Winnipeg Blues at the brand new MTS IcePlex.

The two teams met up once at the new rink during the pre-season and Coach Blake Spiller was impressed with the setup.

The Terriers are 1-0-1 after opening weekend.

After dropping their home opener 3-2 in overtime to the Natives, the team rebounded to earn a 3-1 win in Neepawa.

Spiller says there was definitely a lot to learn from the first two games of the season for his club.

The Blues have played three games and so far, seem like the unluckiest team in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. The club dropped two games in overtime and one in a shootout.

Spiller knows it's a team they can't take lightly though, especially with a revamped defense.
