The RM of Armstrong is holding a community engagement meeting tonight. Reeve Jack Cruise explains why they need to hold meetings like this.

"We have a fairly large, land-based municipality. It's not always easy for me as reeve, or councillors to talk to all the people that we serve. It's basically a public meeting where we can give people a chance where we can talk to them a bit about things we either did accomplish, or tried to accomplish last year, as well as some of our plans for this year."

Cruise lists a few things they'll be discussing tonight.

"Some of the topics that Council will be bringing forward are some of our drainage plans for this year. Something we've already talked about, the new cell opening at the Meleb nuisance ground. Our  existing fire trucks are between 25 and 30 years old, so the fire departments have been talking to us about replacing either one or two fire trucks."

Tonight's meeting is in Silver, south of Arborg, at the Silver Hall.
