The Central Plains FC will take over Rotary Republic of Manitobah Park tonight as they take on Southdale FC. Central Plains is undefeated at home after picking up a pair of 1-1 ties before winning their last game 2-1 over the Interlake Impact last week.

"We let the first goal in, in that one. It wouldn't be us this year if we didn't let the first goal in," says head coach Brett Hannah. "We played really well in that game. It was probably one of the best games we played. We were able to end up putting two in, in the second half. That got us three points (in the standings) that we desperately need."

Nick Plourde and Aaron Hourie were the two goal scorers against Interlake, with Hourie finding the back of the net in the final five minutes to secure the victory.

Central Plains is now fourth in the league standings with a record of 4-2-4. Hannah says they are hoping to become one of the top two teams by the end of the regular season, so they can move up a division next year.

"We have some tough games up ahead, so we're really going to have to dig our boots in and find the back of the net. We have to practice our finishing and get those goals that we desperately need. Our defence is playing really well over the last few games," Hannah continues. "Brad Wright and Brian Stanger in the back are playing really well defensively. That gives us a big opportunity to win games. We just need to start putting the ball in the back of the net when we have the chances."

While the squad had quite a prolific offence in the month of June, scoring 18 goals over five games, they've cooled off quite a bit since. In their last three games, Central Plains has just four goals.

Hannah believes if they can heat up again offensively, they should be able to move up in the standings.

Central Plains hopes to win their second consecutive home game tonight against Southdale FC at 7:15.
