The president of Canad Inns says they're improving the quality of guest experience.

The hotel chain has announced they're going 100 per cent smoke free by November 30th, this including the Portage location.

Leo Ledohowski feels it's a move that'll be supported by their guests and believes people are starting to expect theses types of policies.

Currently 80 per cent of guest rooms in other locations are non-smoking, but Ledohowski points out the Portage Canad Inns has surpassed that average and is expected to fully adapt to the policy next month.  It'll be the second location to do so.

When that happens, smoking will only be permitted in designated areas.
