It's been a busy summer for Manitoba campgrounds.

It's shaping up to be a banner year for camping in Manitoba.

Tracy Elbourne with Manitoba Conservation says thanks to all the heat this summer, reservations are up.

She says if the trend continues we will match the all time high for reservations in one year.

She says all provincial campgrounds are seeing strong numbers but especially Birds Hill Park, St.Malo, Grand Beach and Falcon Lake.

Meantime, Elbourne says she has yet to hear any negative feedback regarding fire restrictions in Manitoba parks.

She says campers have been very cooperative.

Locally, Portage and area campgrounds are looking forward to a busy weekend, both Millers and Lynch's Point are booked solid, Ofty's Riverside Campground has a few sites open.
