The federal justice minister has introduced yet another bill to strengthen the justice system.

Vic Toews says this one relates to people accused of serious crimes involving guns. They're making changes to legislation that will make it more difficult for people charged with gun crimes to obtain bail.

The bill includes a reverse onus system which means the Crown would no longer have to prove to a judge these accused should be held behind bars until trial.

Toews says there's widespread support for this measure right across the country.
