Linda was born on December 15, 1943, in Souris, the first child and only daughter of Ernie and Viola Austin.  They lived in Minto until she was 5 years old and then moved to Gladstone and later to Portage la Prairie.  From ages 12 to 17, Linda looked after the neighbour’s children. After grade 12, Linda took a 3 year Psychiatric Nurse’s Course and found employment at the Manitoba Development Centre.  On June 26,1965 she married Perry Adams and moved to his family farm where they raised their three children.  She was an active member in the United Church.  In Portage, Linda taught the very young children in McKenzie Mission Sunday School.  Her children grew up in that church and were all baptized.  Over a span of 5 years, Linda took courses towards a “Certificate of Theology” which she completed in June of 2004.  Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time together.
