Three grade 11 students at Portage Collegiate are on an entrepreneurial journey.

Skylar Williams, Charley Williams, and Ryane Wasyliw have started Beyond Coffee Co.

The girls have brought in organic, fair trade products, to serve their homemade cold coffee in recyclable bottles.

Wasyliw outlines, they came up with the name as they want to go beyond the coffee, by spreading messages of environmentalism through their platform.

Skylar explains they sell the coffee out of the school's store, Locker to Locker. She adds all of their parents are supportive of this idea, helping out when they can.

Being so young, Skylar acknowledges they've faced some challenges, but for the most part, it's all been great.

Sean Hopps teaches at the school and helped the girls get the business off the ground. Beyond Coffee Co. has already made profits, and it has just begun.

Charley encourages everyone to try starting up a business. She adds the community of Portage and area is very supportive.

"If you put in the work, it will work out for you," says Charley.
