Sentimental Journeys is the name of the new exhibit in the Portage and District Arts Centre boardroom gallery. The showing's on until April 1, and the works were made by Oakville artist Bette Holliday who says she's been painting for several years now.

"I started painting in 1996. I've always loved to draw. It was in 1996 that I actually started to work with watercolours," Holliday explains. "I have done some pen and ink, and I have done some collage. But I prefer to the watercolour."

She explains the pieces are rural farm scenes she remembers from her childhood, as well as some other images.

PDAC executive director Paul Legris adds all the works are for sale and they make a wonderful complement to the boardroom.
