The Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie issued a notice to its residents about their office closure and alternate payment options.

Their changes are temporary and they'll return to business as usual as soon as it's safe to do so. They say there's no confirmation of COVID-19 in the RM office, but they're doing their part to minimize its impact on the health care system and in the community.

Effective Tuesday, at 4:30 p.m. the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie will be closed to the public. These closures include the Municipal Office, Public Works Shop and Utility Operations.

The RM says they encourage all members of the public to visit https://www.gov.mb.ca/health/coronavirus/index.html, which is being updated daily by the Province of Manitoba with information on its response. Health-related questions or concerns about COVID-19 (coronavirus) can also be directed to Health Links – Info Santé at 204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257.

The R.M. offers the following e-services and online options to ensure uninterrupted access to services. http://www.rmofportage.ca/p/payment-methods
