The Arborg water treatment plant will soon see some upgrades. The town was approved for $400,000 in upgrades to the plant to replace some of the pipes, among other things. Mayor of Arborg, Randy Sigurdson says the cost for the upgrades are coming from mulitiple levels.

"It's a three-way project, we were approved for a grant for that. The feds will give us a third, the province will give us a third and we look after a third," says Sigurdson.

The mayor notes water is a necessity to be taken care of, which is why the treatment plant is seeing upgrades.

"Water is a high priority. Anytime you're sending water through an urban area, there's all kinds of requirements that have to be met," Sigurdson says.

Sigurdson adds the town had to formally sign a contract with the Water Services Board so they could get approved to look after the project.
