The west wall of the Herman Prior Centre will be looking a little more colourful come spring. Artist Yvette Cuthbert says they will be making a mural on the wall in the form of a mosaic. She described what it will look like.

"The mural is eight feet by ten feet. It's going to be two hands grasped together, and it's all made by four by four inch tiles."

Cuthbert notes they need the community's help to paint hearts on the tiles. When it's warm out, they'll put them on the wall as a tribute to volunteerism.

She adds she initially approached MCC to do a mural on one of their walls in conjunction with the Celebrate the Night event. However, when Celebrate the Night moved to the Island, there was no need for the mural in that location. She decided a great new location would be on the Herman Prior Centre. After city's approval, she went ahead with the plan to build the mosaic.
