Things are slowly going back to normal in Gillam.

Manitoba RCMP released a statement yesterday that stated the bodies of the two men wanted for murders in British Columbia had been found near the shoreline of the Nelson River.

It was believed they could be hiding in Gillam, which put a strain on the community.

"There is definitely a sense of ease now that things have come to a close," says Taylor. "It's nice to see that the community is back to its relaxed pace of life."

Since the report came in late last month that the two could be in Gillam, the RCMP had been sending resources to the community.

"It definitely was nice to see law enforcement and all the agencies coming into the community to locate the suspects," says Taylor. "It did give you some comfort knowing that they didn't give up right until the end. They pursued through the tough conditions that we have up here and they were trying to bring closure to this case."

She says she is glad it's over.

"You don't want to be celebrating that it's come to a close as it has, but it is nice that some closure has been found for both the community and everybody involved in this whole ordeal," says Taylor.
