The Portage Terriers scored early and often as they beat the Winnipeg Blues last night 8-1 at the PCU Centre. Just over 1 minute into the first period Shawn Bowles got the Terriers on the board as he blasted home a point shot for his first of the night. The Blues came out physical once again and James McIsaac tied the game 15 minutes later. Portage would heat up before the end of the first period, scoring 3 goals in the last 4 minutes. Stewart scored on the power play through traffic, Hendrix finished off a scramble in front, and Stewart scored again with a beautiful goal under the bar coming out from the corner.

The second period started just like the first, as Shawn Bowles got his second goal of the night walking out from the corner and going high gloveside. Portage would continue to score with Brayden Macdonald deflecting one in, and Dean Stewart finishing off the hat-trick with a shot from the line. He says "We were just getting pucks through..and a lot of net presence when we were shooting".

The play started to slow down in the third period once the Blues realized they were down by 6. Adam Wowryk would add one more goal for Portage to make it 8-1. Terrier goalie Nathan Park picked up the win in net, stopping 19 of 20.

Winnipeg goalie Jacob Gnidziejko let in 4 goals on 10 shots after the first period and was replaced by Scott Parsons. Parsons didn't fare much better as he would let in 4 goals on 17 shots.
