A lacklustre performance by the Central Plains Capitals handed the Winnipeg Thrashers a 4-0 victory in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League last night.

The Caps looked lost at times on the ice, struggling to get out of their zone for stretches at a time at the PCU Centre. Caps' goalie Justin Klassen made 40 saves on the night, doing everything he could to keep pucks out of the net

Central Plains' Assistant Coach Daniel Moar doesn't credit the loss to their opponents.

"Struggling offense, struggling everything. That was our poorest level of effort we've put forth all year, and you just can't do that against a team like that. That's a team we're trying to catch, and to come out with an effort like that is pretty disappointing."

Moar says there's only one thing to do after a game like that.

"Forget about it and go back to practice, and be ready to go for Friday."

The Caps visit Eastman in Beausejour Friday.
