It was a bitter sweet night on the court for PCI in West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 2 playoff basketball.

The junior varsity Saints won 48-42 in their match against St. John's. Saints' Simone Crevier led the way with 10 points, Abby Vanstone and Trinity Hunter each had 8. The Saints next playoff game is set for Wednesday at 6:15 against Elmwood.

The jv Trojans fell 83-79 to Westwood, and were eliminated from the WWAC Tier 2 playoffs. Trojans' Noah Spence led the way with 20 points in the high scoring affair.

The Varsity Saints fell 56-55 to Gordon Bell at PCI last night. The Saints and Panthers were neck-and-neck through this one, but a few missed opportunities cost the Saints late. PCI's Head Coach Jamal Cleaver says it's always very tough for the vets.

"It's a tough one to take, that's for sure. Especially having 4 seniors on the team, you always want to try and get as far as you can with them."

Cleaver won't be returning as Head Coach next season. She gives her thought's on her time with the club.

"I am very proud. It's kind of bitter sweet, the 4 seniors are the ones I started with, so I'm sad to see them go that way. They've come a long way, especially for a rebuilding year."

Cassie Hanna, Kennedy Cunningham, Sam Turner, and Leah Dickenson are all graduating players.

The Trojans take a timeout to settle down in the 4th quarter.

The varsity Trojans were able to storm their way to a 92-42 victory over Westwood at PCI. The Trojans' season is still on the line tonight, as they visit St. John's for their second round match-up.

Trojans' Head Coach Janey MacDonald says there's a big difference between Westwood and St. John's, and they'll need to be prepared for a much faster game.

"They should definitely feel very confident. I think Westwood came out and tried to give us a really good game, but I think St. John's is going to come out even harder and attack harder. So we can't take for granted the differences in defensive pressure, offensive pressure. We kind of have to take care of business now, so it's on to the next one."

The varsity Trojans and St. John's are scheduled for 6:15 p.m. tonight.
