The PCI junior varsity basketball teams open their West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 2 seasons tonight at PCI. The Saints and Trojans have both been in pre-season action for a few weeks, competing in tournaments on the weekends to prepare for the season.

The PCI Saints were in a tournament at Westpark a couple weeks ago, and finished second place in their home tournament this past weekend. Saints' Head Coach Dave McLeod says the team's a work in progress, but expects them to improve a lot throughout the season. The Saints host John Taylor tonight at 5 p.m. in PCI's East gym.

The PCI Trojans host Westwood tonight at PCI as well. The Trojans won the West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 2 championship last season, and hope to repeat again in 2016. The Trojans finished 1-1 at a tournament over the weekend, and Head Coach Darin Arnold explains what he wants from his club tonight.

"Ugh, win," he laughs. "Other than that, just focus on what we've been talking about. Run our offense, and play as a team. We have a lot of potential this year if they can figure out how to play as a team. So making sure that keeps happening -- like the last couple of practices have looked really good, there was good moments in all of the games -- just focusing on that. The less individual stuff we can have tomorrow, the better."

The Trojans and Westwood go at 6:30 p.m. The Varsity teams start their season in 2016.
