The yellow vest is a sign of distress among truckers, and hundreds will be worn as a truck convoy travels across four provinces and driving to Ottawa for the 19th, declaring a state of distress in the nation. The convoy passed through Portage today. Jay Riedel is the organizer for one leg of the convoy that joined the group at Estevan.

Jay Riedel"We're basically not too happy the way the government's treating us out here," says Riedel. "With all of the carbon tax and stuff happening with everything else, and the C-69 bill and the C-48 bill that's coming in, we think we're not being treated fairly out here."

He notes the idea came from protests in France, and the convoy adopted the distress signal, but stresses there are no intentions of repeating the violence and rioting that occurred in France. Riedel says two hundred trucks will make their way up Parliament Hill and several speakers are assigned to address the crowd that'll be gathered there, with hopes of some politicians they've asked to get involved.
