A Winnipeg man faces a pair of charges following two seperate shoplifting events last month in Portage la Prairie.

According to police, on June 23, Portage la Prairie RCMP received two calls of shoplifting on Saskatchewan Avenue East. The first call came in at approximately 2:35 p.m. and the second call at approximately 3:20 p.m.

Police say both of these occurrences involved the same suspect, who was located and arrested near the RCMP Detachment soon after.

A 20-year-old male from Winnipeg is charged with two counts of theft under $5000 and released to appear in court at a later date with imposed conditions.
