What's the Scoop opens doors, ringing in warmer times for Portage

I scream, you scream, we all scream for What's the Scoop's Ice Cream

What's the Scoop opened its doors at the start of May, meaning that warm temperatures have finally made their way into Portage la Prairie. Owner Rhonda Lodwick says the past few years have been tougher than usual due to the Saskatchewan Avenue construction project but she hopes this year will be a welcome change.

"We're really praying for a lot of sunshine with no construction. It'll make it easy for everyone to get to us," explains Lodwick. "We have a little patio area we're constructing at the back of the building, so people will have more seating and a place to sit, relax, and enjoy their ice cream."

Lodwick adds that one thing that will be making a return from last year is the Scoop family. Little ice cream cone figures will be hidden around the community and those that find them can return them to What's the Scoop for a free scoop of ice cream.
