A veteran tory member of the legislature will not seek re-election.
Emerson MLA Jack Penner announced he will not be running for re-election.  Fellow tory and Portage MLA David Faurshou believes Penner had a successful 18 and a half years in the legislature, providing valuable public service to our province.
Faurschou notes Penner's resignation will be a significant loss to the PC caucus, however he is sure somebody will step up to fill the void in Emerson.
Faurshou adds recent cabinet activity may mean a provincial election is near, however he's unsure as to when an election might be called.
