The food has been served and the GM3000 Grain Bin from Meridian Manufactuing is now ready to move to its new home just outide of Portage. This year's grand prize winner is Verwey Farms, who farm land all around the Portage area.

Jill Verwey says they try and go to the event every year to visit with other farmers and meet with some of the partners but added they never expect to win. She commented the event itself is good enough so when the call came in about the win, it was quite a surprise.

“We were looking for some more storage this year,” Verwey explained. “Hopefully it will be a good crop, and it will be great to have an extra bin. Getting some sunshine now would be good as well and possibly help fill it up.”

There were many instant winners who took home some valuable prizes from the partners as well. Those winners included Tom Waldner, Jennifer Friesen, Debbie Zuke, Leonard Friesen, Jean Jack, Tricia Kell, Jim Donley, Rose Gray, Jim Leslie, Pete Doerksen, Clark Munro, Michelle Celine Humiski, Howard Gould, Bob Galbraith, Drew Stobie, Heather Stobie, B. Picton, Matt Sawatzky, Andre Misonne, Hosea from High Bluff and Calvin Waldner.

The lunch was a huge success once again and many were not only appreciative of the free lunch but the live entertainment from the Sean Taylor Band as well.
