Vacations are still popular with Portagers, despite Canada's weak dollar, according to Travel Quest owner Carey Duncan.

Duncan says the warm weather contributed to a delay in bookings.

"It was a little bit of a slow start to the season, because we had such nice temperatures in the fall, but now everything has taken the dip in temperatures we're seeing it's picked up a lot. We've had very long days to make sure we've gotten everybody looked after, so it's been busy."

Duncan points out he prices aren't really effected by the weak dollar at the time of booking.

"The prices were determined long ago, like the contracts were done way before the dollar took a dive. We've seen a little bit of a hit, but not so much. People know what their holiday is costing when it's an all inclusive, but I would think anyone who's doing a U.S. land based vacation, or driving across the border, would really be feeling the pinch on that."

She says there are still a lot of amazing places you could visit.

"A lot of the all inclusives are still very popular. Cuba, Mexico, and the Dominican have been very strong, but we're also seeing -- because of the dollar -- people looking for different destinations as well so Europe has been up a little bit through the winter, which is normally an off season."

She adds the staff is working long days to ensure everyone is getting the deal, and vacation, they're looking for.
