Portage la Prairie firefighters answered a call just after 6 o'clock last night, north of the city.

A vacant house about two miles south of Delta Beach, near the junction of Highway 240 and Road 78 north, was destroyed.

The cause is under investigation, and is deemed suspicious.

There were no injuries, and there's no damage estimate.
