Portage Collegiate Trojans varsity basketball team's facing a quick turnaround in the West Winnipeg Athletic Conference.

They played a make up game last night versus Shaftesbury in Winnipeg, and fell 74-59.

This afternoon, they're back on the hardcourt, facing the Rams in Stonewall.

Coach Sean Hopps says over the years, the Rams have never been a team they could take lightly.

"Although their record may not be strong, we know that they always come out hard," he says, "They come out wanting to win. So our strategy going into tonight's game is just coming out with the same energy, the same focus we do for every game. Not looking past them, and making sure that we leave Stonewall with the win."

Hopps outlines the team's approach to today's game.

"I think the big thing for us just trying to focus on making good choices when we attack the basket, when we shoot," he says, "Not trying to rely on taking shots that we aren't as confident in, or we don't quite have the skillset at right now. Looking at different ways to score the ball, looking at different ways to get stops on defence."

Tip off is 5 o'clock in Stonewall.
