The Portage Collegiate Trojans just punched their ticket to provincials.

They beat the Sanford in a nail biter, where the final score was 1-0.

With only five total hits in the entire game this one can be described as a defensive battle. Riley Borody was the hero for the Trojans scoring the only run of the game off of a home run in the fourth inning.

"This is a fun time of year, this is the time of the year where the hardware gets handed out. So, we're excited to be in the mix," says Head Coach Jay Dewis. "We're going to get a practice in on Thursday. Going to work on our hitting, pitching, defence and make sure we're in a good frame of mind going into provincials."

The Trojans kept their composure today and that is what they hope to continue going into provincials.
