Kids in Portage got a chance to blow horns and sit in the seats of various city trucks and heavy equipment. Touch-A-Truck is an annual event and took place yesterday at the BDO Centre parking lot, and is put on by the Portage Community Revitalization Corporation.

"I think just to get the kids outside, and getting them to interact with everybody, different things, and the trucks. It's awesome," says Melissa Davis, who was there with her son, Lincoln.

Lincoln says he liked the fire trucks.

Nicole Bueckert was there with her son as well, and says, "I think it's a great event -- lots of vehicles and a great time for the kids. It gets everybody out and about. And it lets them see what vehicles are out there and what people are doing in our city."

She adds it definitely helps facilitate kids' dreams to be a fireman, police officer or even an operator.
