Law Enforcement Officials from across Canada were in Portage la Prairie this morning.  The final leg of the 2006 Law Enforcement torch run for Special Olympics got underway this morning. Saskatoon Police Service Officer Tim Korchinski is the Canadian Director of torch runs, he says it's both an honour and a privilege to carry the flame of hope for the Special Olympics.
Program Services Coordinator for Special Olympics Manitoba Devin Hollis says having law enforcement officials on board is a great way to raise money and awareness, adding the athletes are always pleased to meet and greet officers from across the nation.  Law enforcement officers will pass the torch to athletes tonight in Brandon as part of the opening ceremonies.
