The PCI Trojans were in action in West Winnipeg Athletic Association Varsity boys basketball. They were in tight against the Shaftesbury Titans but couldn't overcome a slow start as they lost by a final score of 80-78.

PCI had a slow first half as they trailed by as many as 20 points at one point in the half. Shaftesbury seemed to be playing very disciplined and relaxed basketball. Trojans Head Coach Janey Bradford spoke about their slow first half.

"It's really hard to play a half of basketball and expect to be able to come out on the winning end on that. Shaftesbury came out and played consistent, disciplined and structured to what their coach wanted them to do which led to them having opportunities to score."

The Trojans would come alive in the second half as they rallied to take the lead at one during the third quarter. It was a back and forth affair after that as the teams would exchange buckets and fouls all the way to the final buzzer. Bradford said she is impressed with her team despite their relative youth.

"They're still really young. They're doing really well mentally and physically for themselves right now. We're learning and advancing, we just can't play a half of basketball consistently and expect to win."

The Trojans are in action again on Monday when they travel to Winnipeg to take on Grant Park.
