During the cities RM meeting yesterday a tile drainage application was passed. Precision Land Solution presented the application on behalf of Sissons Farms a few weeks ago. After a lengthy discussion over the course of two meetings, the RM decided to allow Precision to go ahead with the tile drainage plan. The new tile drainage system will be constructed north of Portage on the 240. Reeve Kam Blight spoke to the application and explains that it took some time to decide on because property owners downstream of the proposed system had to provide their signatures. As of yesterday afternoon, all the necessary signature were obtained so the RM gave the go ahead. Blight adds that when farmers want to put in tile drainage, it is a huge expense. He stressed that the application approval took some time because they want to ensure everything was done properly so in the future there would be no issues.
