Ever felt experimental when it comes to Thanksgiving supper? Of course the traditional homestead usually serves turkey, gravy, stuffing, and possibly even cranberry sauce if you're Southern around this type of year. But what if you didn't actually have to have turkey as the main dish? Or what if you chose to spice it up a little? Would this cause an alternate paradox that would ripple in the very fabric of reality?! ... Probably not. But I'm sure there's a turkey out there somewhere that would be grateful. For those of you that are intrigued by trying some new things, here's a list of foods and recipes you can try:

1. Amber's Favorite: Loaded Chicken Casserole

Here's what you'll need:

  • Frozen chicken breasts (1 breast for each person... I promise you won't need much more than that!)
  • Stuffing of your choice
  • 1 Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • Cheese of your choice

Layer frozen chicken breast, soup, stuffing, and cheese respectively in a casserole dish. Preheat oven to 325 F. Cook for 4 hours. Prepare to be really full!

2. The Not-So-Traditional American Thanksgiving

Hotdogs. Can't go wrong with hot dogs! Plus you don't have to deal with near as many dishes!

3. Tofurkey

This can be found in the Veggie Fridge Aisle in most grocery stores. If you cook it right, it might just taste like turkey!

4. Pork Loin

I've heard it's great with cornbread stuffing. MMMMMmmmm!

5. Broccoli Bake - Submission from Haley

Here's what you'll need:

  • Broccoli
  • Mashed potatoes
  • 1 can of Cream of Chicken Soup
  • Cheese of your choice
  • Diced or sliced ham (optional)

Bake at 325 F in a casserole dish for 20 minutes or until golden at the top.  Delish!

6. Spice up your Thanksgiving!

Give your meal a latin style by throwing in chipotle in your corn and mashed potatoes, chile spiced tamales in the sweet potatoes, Guajillo-Tamarind glaze on your turkey, and Mexican cheese in the veggies! That's one way to stay warm!

7. A Seaside Thanksgiving Feast

Here's what you'll need:

  • Veggies served with a Walnut-fig vinagerette
  • Herb Brined Turkey (or fish of your choice)
  • Chestnut and Oyster Stuffing
  • Honey glazed carrots
  • Potato leek Gratin

8. Meatballs Meal - Submission by Cody B

Here's what you'll need:

  • Meatballs
  • Mashed (or scalloped) potatoes mixed with cheese
  • Ham

9. Just Eat Pie!

Chicken Pot Pie, Turkey stuffed pie, pumpkin pie, ... PIE!

10. Pumpkin Spiced Tacos... What?!

This sounds delicious! The full recipe for this can be found here
