The Portage Terriers beat the Swan Valley Stampeders for the second time this MJHL season. The final score was 4-3 last night. The Dogs now have the edge in the season series, as they won two and the Stampeders only have one win over Portage.

Riley Bruce opened the scoring almost halfway through the first, getting assists from Lach Hadley and Logan Christensen.

The Stampeders scored shortly after to tie the game at one and it stayed that way for the rest of the period. Swan Valley opened the second period scoring near the eight-minute mark on the power-play. However, the Dogs responded, as the combination of Bruce and Hadley were back at it. Bruce scored his second of the game, and his team-leading 15th on the year, off the assist from Hadley.

Just 30 seconds into the final frame, Carter Cockburn took a penalty for Swan Valley giving the Dogs their third power-play of the game. They made sure to capitalize as Joey Moffatt scored, getting assists from Jacob Piller and Sam Huston. This goal has Moffatt tied for the league lead in power-play goals with seven.

Less than two minutes later, Lane Taylor put home his fourth of the year assisted by Logan Calder, extendjng the lead to 4-2.

The Stampeders scored with under two minutes to play, but were unable to get the tying goal.

This gives the Terriers a record of 17-7-1 this season, and puts them on a two-game winning streak. Portage will look to stretch the win streak to three games Tuesday against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.
