The Portage Terriers are looking to get back to their winning ways tonight at Stride Place.

The Dogs have lost back-to-back games for the first time this season leading up to tonight's contest, falling 6-4 to the Swan Valley Stampeders and 4-3 to the Dauphin Kings.

The Terriers will be welcoming the Niverville Nighthawks to the dog pound tonight, the team who handed Portage their first home loss of the season. The season series is now tied at 1-1 but the Nighthawks are entering this contest on a four-game win streak.

The Terriers will have to watch out for forward Brendan Bottem who enters tonight's game on an eight-game point streak and has scored ten goals this season.

On the other side of the ice is Austin Peters who also has ten goals this season and has a point in his last five games. The 17-year-old Terrier forward has 12 points over his last nine games and places second for the Dogs in scoring.

In Portage's last outing against Dauphin, they gave up three goals in the first ten minutes of play and were unable to catch up. Look for the Dogs to try and bounce back with a hot start tonight against the Nighthawks.

While the Terriers are on their first losing streak of the season, their power-play has been on a roll. Over the last three games, the Terriers have scored five goals with the man-advantage and are converting on 41.6 per cent of their power-play opportunities.

Portage and Niverville will faceoff tonight at Stride Place with puck drop set for 7:30.
