Two Portage Collegiate students are the instructors for a pow wow dance program that's being offered at Fort la Reine School.

16 year old Jacinda Houle tells how it came about.

Jaida and Jacinda Houle"Lynne Parker is the one who reached out to us," she says. "And the dance program is something I've wanted to do for a long time, because I really like to teach something that I'm super passionate about, and teaching the kids makes me really happy."

14 year old Jaida Houle talks about why she wants to teach others.

"I'm proud, and I enjoy teaching them," she says. "They always have fun, and I like practicing my culture. it's pretty good exercise, too."

ROK Central's Lynne Parker stresses it's open to anyone.

"They can just show up, come down to the gym, and we'll register them then," she says. "We have a snack, and then they head right into to doing their dance instruction."

The program runs Wednesday afternoons, from 3:30 until 5.
