Portage la Prairie School Division Superintendent Todd Cuddington announced Tuesday that he will be stepping away from his role at the end of June.

After eight years as Superintendent, Cuddington wrote to staff that he would pursue new opportunities and challenges after this school year.

"Leading this division has been an incredible honour and privilege, and I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to have served alongside such dedicated and talented individuals. Together, the division has accomplished a great deal, and I am proud of the positive impact we have made on the lives of our students and the community. While I am sad to be leaving this wonderful organization, I am confident that the division is in capable hands and will continue to thrive under new leadership."

Cuddington expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and collaborated with him, and became his friend over his tenure.

"It has been a privilege to work with such a dedicated group of professionals working in support of the children of our community."

The School Division has yet to comment on Cuddingtons departure.
