A lot happened in the RM of St. Laurent in 2015.

Reeve Cheryl Smith points to a couple of items involving healthcare as significant.

"We re-established the first responders unit. We have 12 community volunteers who have completed the course. Hopefully we're going to be inserting a budget line item starting in the new year, so they will be hitting the ground running. We've also turned the sod in terms of a brand new ambulance station. it should be operational by March 2016."

Smith notes something significant this year actually dealt with an event in 2011.

"We've also completed all our outstanding disaster financial site numbers since the flood of 2011. That was over half a million dollars worth of different job sites, and the Council worked very hard to meet the deadline of December 1st, 2015."

Smith adds the community development corporation was re-structured in 2015, and is now concentrating on grant applications on several community projects.
