Since the provincial government's announced changes to Emergency Medical Services, some communities are delighted while others are suspicious of how things will fare. RM of St. Laurent Reeve Cheryl Smith says things a re looking better for them.

"Of course St. Laurent is very happy to have our ambulance station that did open up just recently," explains Smith. "So, it's a brand new facility. We were sort of a community without. We didn't have an ambulance. We didn't have a hospital. The government did build a new facility in our community, so we were very happy."

While she's aware other communities aren't so happy, Smith admits she's not sure if the changes will improve services overall, and only time will tell. She adds they've recently got their ambulance, and that won't change, so they're quite pleased.
