Spring Break is approaching, and despite the weak Canadian Dollar, people in Portage are still set for vacations over the week long holiday.

Travel Quest Owner Carey Duncan says it's a always a busy time for vacations.

"We've had a lot of people that have booked, weeks or months ago in advance for Spring Break. It seems to be a very popular time to travel with kids out of school so families can get away for a week. Some of the popular locations again this year would be the Mayan Riviera; Cuba is one of the favourites that people like to get away, too; the Dominican Republic as well."

Duncan says land based trips to the States will be a bit more expensive.

"People still are travelling, and a lot of these contracts are done well in advance. So we haven't had a huge hit on the US dollar for these types of vacations, the all-inclusives. Certainly we've seen it with some of the land based holidays in the US, for example Disney, that's one of the ones that has been affected this year."

Duncan says with kids being out of school families have a chance to get away for a week.
