It's been a long cold winter, but Dan Huberdeau from Wastons Roofing in Portage la Prairie explains the snow load on roofs hasn't been much of an issue this year. Though snow hasn't piled high and heavy people have been experiencing plumbing stack vents freezing up.

Huberdeau explains if your toilet or sink starts gurgling and bubbling when they drain this is most likely because of a frozen plumbing stack vent on the roof. To fix this, Huberdeau outlines you should carefully go onto your roof with a hot pale of water and pour it down the vent.

The one area of concern Huberdeau has about snow on the roof is the snow around the edges of your home. He explains everyone should clear the sides off to avoid issues when the sun heats up, and things start to melt, alleviating ice build up.
