A 34-year-old Sandy Bay man is facing charges of assault and uttering threats following a domestic incident last week.

According to police, on Sept. 11, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Manitoba First Nations Police Service officers responded to a call of a domestic disturbance at a home in Sandy Bay First Nation. Police say officers located a male and female arguing outside the residence and observed the female to have visible injuries to her face.

Upon police investigation, the male was placed under arrest for assault, at which time the male became verbally abusive to the attending police and the victim, and uttered threats to the
officers.

A Sandy Bay man, 34, was lodged in cells until sober and faces charges of assault with a weapon and uttering threats to a person. He was released on conditions to appear in court at a later court date.
