The PCI Saints girls played at the Christmas Hockey Tournament yesterday in Portage la Prairie at the PCU Centre. Coach Jo-Anne Clark-Gillespie outlines the action.

Jo-Anne Clark-Gillespie"It was a good game. We started of a bit slow, and we're getting outshot early and then the girls settled down. Probably just a little bit of nerves having a home tournament, and bunch of student classmates there watching. It was a very solid game. We've played one of our very best defensive games of the year. And the forechecking system we're working on was really working."

She notes the outcome of the first game.

"We won 3-1, and we probably had way more scoring chances than they did. Of course, the shots were pretty lopsided, and it could have been a lot worse. But their goaltender played very well. We play again at 4:00 again in Selkirk."
