The PLAP City Rollers had a great year in 2018. Cora Pohl is the leagues Secretary and Media Coordinator and explains 2018 was a busy year for them. During the year the league took a focus on expansion, especially with their co-ed junior league. Ages in the junior league range from five to seventeen, and so far there are five members. Another highlight of 2018 was the Second Annual Susan Kushniruk Memorial Scrimmage; a fundraiser organized to raised funds for Central Plains Cancer Services. Phol reported they doubled what they made last year, bringing in just over $1100.00. During the memorial scrimmage, Portage la Prairie Mayor Irvine Ferris attended, his attendance was very notable for the league. Also in 2018, the team made a new logo. The new logo aims to showcase the inclusiveness that the sport offers. All in all the PLAP City Rollers had a busy year yet again, focused on growth, as well as making an impact in the community.
