The Portage la Prairie RCMP has released the report for calls received between February 19 and February 25. With a total of 215 calls, an average of 30 calls per day, being placed. With the week previous having 222 calls for service, this is a slight decrease.


There were 43 reported Traffic Offences, 1 reported Vehicle Collision and 1 report of Impaired Driving.

There were also 31 Provincial statutes reports, those include Mental Health Act, Child Welfare Act, Coroner’s Act, 911 Act, etc.

Crimes against Person reports included 7 Assaults, 4 Assaults with a Weapon, and 4 reports of Uttering threats.

Crimes against Property included 9 Thefts, 4 Thefts of a Motor Vehicle, 4 cases of Breaking and Entering and 9 reports of Mischief.

The report also included 46 "Other Criminal Investigations" and 51 "Other Police Activities".

Other Police Activities are described as False Alarms, Suspicious Person/Vehicle, Assistance Given, etc.
