During the Christmas season, roadways see an influx in travelers. Manitoba Public Insurance spokesperson Brian Smiley reminds us to prepare as we hit the roads. He suggests equip a vehicle with a safety kit before traveling anywhere in these colder conditions. He explains a good safety kit includes a first aid kit, jumper cables, flashlights, food and water, blankets, candles, and matches. Smiley adds it's a safe bet to ensure you have warm clothing in case the unpredictable occurs. He stresses do not leave the vehicle in case of an accident. Put on your four-way flashers, bundle up and call the appropriate help. He insists anyone is safer inside of a car when exposed to cold conditions.
