Discussions in the House of Commons are looking at a change to the current emergency management act.

Selkirk-Interlake MP James Bezan notes this effects his riding as he has had the Gull Lake Tornado, and the Lester Beach Flash Flood this year, in which they needed the E-M-A.

He adds the frequent Red River floods also fall under the act.

Bezan explains the amendments are in the way of precautionary measures and hopes they are not delayed in the house.

He adds the E-M-A currently contains -- no precautionary measures.
